We are focused on developing forward thinking ideas and work across channels, end-to-end experiences in digital and beyond.The Global Lounge Design team is responsible for setting the vision for how the American Express brand is expressed in permanent physical spaces and 3D applications, drawing upon the brand’s visual identity and strategic principles, and ultimately building brand value. The team manages branding and design from concept through construction, ensuring the design intent and desired brand experience remain intact.The Sr. Analyst – Lounge Design Strategy will report to one of the Sr. Managers of Lounge Design Strategy and will support the larger team in the development of all-design related aspects of Card Member facing permanent spaces across the globe, primarily in airports and travel-related segments. To be successful in this role, the candidate must be an excellent collaborator, self-starter, and exhibit an enthusiasm to learn about the various factors that contribute to a successful customer experience.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:Support the Lounge Design team with daily requestsCollaborate with internal American Express teams and external agencies to optimize our Card Member spaces, leveraging design as a catalyst to continuously bring the brand to life in new and memorable waysContribute to the environmental brand direction and coordination for all stages of design throughout:Existing space auditsConceptual designDesign developmentDrawing reviews and submittalsConstruction / fabricationPost-construction reviewLiaise with interior design, graphic design, and architect partners as they interpret and execute on our design vision – collaborating with the team on creative briefing, defining project asks, and design directionWork with the broader Branded Environments team to support internal American Express business units with design status updates, planning exercises, and timely deliverablesSupport furniture and accessory coordination across projectsSupport ongoing operational design needs including card member signage, design maintenance, smallwares, uniforms, etc.Support digital documentation of project specificationsParticipate in all team meetings, reviews, phone calls, and communication between project teamsCreate a positive team environment through proactive collaboration and cooperation. QualificationsQualifications:3+ years of experience in commercial interior design, branded environmental design, or similar disciplinePassionate, curious, and knowledgeable about great branded hospitality environments and experiencesStrong sense of design principles and understanding of permanent physical space design with a brand lensFamiliarity with space planning, floorplans, furniture planning, and adjacencies Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to collaborate on multiple projects in various phases simultaneously, meeting timeline expectationsExcellent organization skills and attention to detailProficiency with Excel, Microsoft Office, and Acrobat Pro DC. Adobe Creative Suite a plus.General understanding of production or construction processes a plus - including documentation, timelines, budgeting, and terminologyRequirementsBachelor’s degree in interior design, environmental design, graphic design, or similarCase studies/portfolio demonstrating ability contribute to environmental / interior design initiatives and deliver best-in-class design solutionsEmployment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
